I want to talk to you today about one of the biggest challenges that I see really holding people back from creating a life and business that they truly desire. I share this today from a place of experience and personal struggle.
The challenge I’m speaking of is time… Not having enough time. I hear this ALL the freakin time!!!
The truth is we all have the same amount of time it’s how we prioritize our time that truly makes us succeed or fail or create the life of our deepest dreams.
This struggle looks different for everyone. Some people have a full-time job, some people have a big family to care for, a job and a business and a family… I totally get it.
One of the issues that I have dealt with personally when it comes to time, is prioritizing my time, and knowing what the right things to focus on, and of course PROCRASTINATION!!!
I am the queen of being distracted, I have a serious case of shiny object syndrome. As an entrepreneur who basically has a home-based office I suck working at home… I used to always say that when I was getting my Masters degree in Chinese medicine, my house never looked cleaner. I would have every excuse to not do my schoolwork. Clearly that’s a problem and it’s a problem when you’re running a business as well.
I started taking myself to coffee shops to work, and found that I was very very focused and got so much work done when I was there. That’s how the CoffeeShopPreneur was born.
Since then I have really learned to structure my day in a way to maximize my time. I have a nonnegotiable’s in my day now, like my morning routing. I work less and get more done.
I’ve learned a lot about how to run my business from my productivity standpoint from a great book called The Perfect Day Formula, by Craig Ballantyne. I’ve also created a 7-day Productivity Challenge that talks about how I’ve use that information and how you can too, in less than 15-minutes a day. Learn simple tasks to maximize your time, do the most productive income producing activities in your business, work less and have more time, money, & freedom.
Recently I discovered this great term Pro-Caffeinating – To delay or postpone action;
Put off doing something till you have had coffee!… I thought this was perfect to describe something that I’ve had to work very hard to overcome… but truth is… my coffee is part of my non-negotiable morning routine, so I guess I still do that!
